DesignTO Festival brings people together to design a better future, one that is more sustainable, just, and joyful. The Festival happens online and in-person at venues across the City of Toronto.

Each year, a Limited Edition Print is produced to commemorate the Festival's visual identity. This year, 2025, entered into stage two of the generative art concept. Each of these posters—and the illustrations produced throughout the festival by Amir & Aryaan—were coded. The specialized scripts and utilities took predefined parameters, dynamic parameters, and a pool of images from DesignTO over the years to generate each illustration—a pixel map of colour, time, and year. 

Two versions were created. Both versions feature a bottom layer that celebrates 2025's visual language, a top layer that celebrates DesignTO's 15 years, and a commemorative sticker that you can keep separate or attach to the print. Each print was handmade by the members of aftermodern's team: Amir, Aiyana, Alex, Anthony, and Josh. 

SPECIFICATIONS

Standard Edition—
This is created through a standard printing process of ink on paper and a second overlay vellum sheet. Each sheet is archival, 100# Cover.

Limited Edition—
These 75 prints were screenprinted by hand. The bottom sheet is a jade paper with natural fibers providing texture and three layers of print: yellow, pink, and white overlay. The top vellum sheet was pulled with black ink. Each bottom sheet is archival jade, 80lb; the top sheet is archival UV Ultra white 17lb.

First Print Run:
- Generate to Make : Standard, 75 prints

Second Print Run:
- Generate to Make : Standard, 150 prints
